Personal growth

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn" Benjamin Franklin

We believe in developing all facets of our students – not just the academic. Their personal and spiritual growth is also a high priority for our school.

Our students actively participate in their own education.

At St Monica's we continually support and encourage them to explore different activities and recognise their natural strengths and weaknesses. They gain a deeper understanding of who they are, in which areas they have natural talents and what they enjoy.

We show students that we all have different goals and priorities, natural strengths and weaknesses.  Different activities and attitudes make us feel good about ourselves and we help our students to find what is best for them.

Student Voice

The Student Voice is comprised of two students from each class who have been elected by their peers to represent them in a whole school forum. The Student Voice work together on:

  • clearly identifying yard rules
  • making sure that all students are aware of them
  • fundraising at school events.

Year 6 Leadership Program

A Leadership Program based on the Young Leaders Program for our Year 6 students helps our students to develop skills.

These skills help support them in the Leadership Roles they hold within our School Community:

  • Sports Captains
  • Choir
  • Mini Vinnies

Saint Monica acknowledges that we are gathered on the traditional country of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationships with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today.
