Physical Education & Sport

At St Monica’s Parish School, it is our policy that all students receive two hours of physical exercise per week through fitness, skill development and games.

The sports program aims to assist young people to acquire skills, maintain a healthy fitness level and create an understanding of teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship.

The School seeks to achieve excellence through participation, the provision of a variety of sports options and active involvement in inter-school competition.

Students from Reception to Year 7 are able to participate in a range of sports/carnivals, including:

  • Auskick
  • Jump Rope For Heart
  • Touch Football
  • Cricket
  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Cross Country
  • Netball
  • Swimming
  • Soccer
  • Australian Rules Football
  • European Handball
  • Footsteps Dance
  • Trampolining and Gymnastics
  • Rugby Tag
  • Sofcross

We also have an innovative sporting program that caters for the gifted and talented by bringing into the school specialist coaches.

For those children whose gross motor skills need development, the students are selected to participate in a program called Funtastics.
